A dive bar is a place that should have good beer, feel like it has been permanently etched into the landscape, and a bartender who calls you “Hun”. The Dive Bar is located in St. Thomas, USVI. The name, while hinting to scuba diving, refers to a dive bar where the people who live on, work on and operate boats for a living will hang out. It is also meant to be a comfortable escape for locals who want to drink beer away from the tourists that invade the island from October to April. With that in mind, the branding needed to have a vintage and hand drawn feel in order to help portray the idea of an old-school hangout for the laid-back marina crowd. As the crowd settles in, we hope they’ll forget the mob of tourists just around the corner.
Happy Gourmet specializes in delivering gourmet meals to a busy life. First, the background of this branding story starts with a personal gourmet chef and an idea for a good, solid, fun brand name. In the Chef’s words, Happy Gourmet’s mission is inspired by the tagline “Eat Well. Enjoy Life.” The result is a logo design that implies food, happiness, and personality. The graphics have a hand drawn feel in order to help portray the idea of homemade meals prepared individually.
My latest Ebook cover and interior design project was with counselor, life coach and author Honestly Becky. She has written a workbook inspired by the thousands of young adults that she has worked with over the last 16 years. The workbook includes all the juicy questions that she asks in her coaching sessions. It contains the equivalent of four sessions of career coaching in one book (with audios!) for people looking for the career that will fulfill their soul (and their bank account). The title says it all: Young & Fearless: How to Create The Career You Love When You Have the Guts.
If you are ready to dig deep, get clear, and determine your career path with confidence, check out Young & Fearless now. I wish I would have had this book back before I started building the career of my dreams!
