Illustration Friday: The Blues

Murran has the blues, even though she lives in the finest castle in all the land. I combined a Moleskine pencil sketch with another illustration in Photoshop.

Lunchtime Sketch in the Moleskine

For the first time in a long time, I did a little sketching in my Moleskine during lunch. I usually work through lunch or eat at my desk because it is always so busy.

Illustration Friday: Juggle

As Eylgar dangled him out of the illustration frame, the little guy looked like he was juggling. But he was really waving his arms around like a conductor hoping that he could convince the giant to put him back in the picture.

Illustration Friday: Wedding

I’ve been wanting to create a digitally illustrated scrapbook of our wedding photos and memorabilia. This is a photoshop illustration and image manipulation. We had a Scottish wedding with a bagpiper and a ‘hand-faestung’ ceremony. Handfasting is an ancient Celtic wedding ritual in which the couples’ hands are tied together with a ceremonial ribbon or cloth. The right hand page shows the original wedding invitation that I illustrated to look like a frame from the illuminated manuscript of the Book of Kells.

Sully + Moleskine Gift from Studio Lolo

I am so honored that Studio Lolo drew such a wonderful illustration of Sully. I wish Sully knew how popular he really is. He is one lucky pooch to have a portrait done by the generous and lovely Laurel. I’m showing this off so everyone will know what great artist she is. Tell Laurel and Emma that "Sully says hi" if you visit her blog.

LOVE-ly Award!

Wow! Emila Yusof has awarded me with the “I Love Your Blog” award. I am truly honored to have received this award from such a talented artist in her own right.

Website Launch

The interactive portion of our year-long internal brand planning process has finally launched. I’m very proud of how our multi-talented interactive team worked so well together to get phase 1 foundation of the site launched. Now on to phase 2…

Illustration friday: Momentum

One day, tall Gulliver saw the ships being made ready in the neighboring Blefuscu to wage a war on Lilliput. Gulliver wanted to foil their attempts, so he walked through the water and tied each ship with rope. With the momentum of just one pull, he was able to destroy the whole fleet. Colored pencil on textured paper.

Portrait Swap

These illustrations were done for “The Portrait Party” blog. This was an enjoyable portrait swap with the awesomely talented Josh Pincus is Crying. For my portrait, he chose the photo that shows my expression as “I’m gonna kick your ass!” I hope he enjoys his “sensitive side” portrait as much as I did mine.
